Trials Bible Study

Trials are a challenge to our faith. It is difficult for us to accept that God would allow us to suffer, and not heal when we pray for healing. What does the Bible say about suffering, and the basis for our trust in God in the face of human suffering?

These are my personal Bible study notes.

Luck

Luke 13:1-5 Christ talked about men killed by falling tower of Siloam. They weren't worse sinners to deserve that fate.

Satan

Sins of Others

When someone sins, innocent people are likely to suffer.

2 Samuel 12:15-23 The child of David and Bathsheba died because of David's sin.

Proverbs 1:22-33
Hosea 10:12-13
Romans 6:21
Galatians 6:7 Reap what you sow.

Human Free Will

Deuteronomy 30:19 God has given humans free will, together with a command to obey Him. Part of this is that humans receive the consequences of their actions. Not only that, but people receive the consequences of others' sinful actions. When humans do right, everyone enjoys the benefits of it. When people do evil, we naturally suffer the consequences.

We could have a world without evil, if God removed our free will. We would be mere puppets.

If we are forced, then we can't really have love. If it's forced, it's not love.
